Spooky Action At A Distance
I have a couple hours to kill,
and have been given another hour to my 25 hour day, which will pass quickly
enough, as I will turn off the ringer on the phone, turn the volume down on the
radio and computer-aided screens that surround my easy chair, where at the
moment I happen to sit. One blog after
another, is my replacement therapy for 60 minutes of sorting through the candy
and the pictures taken at the Halloween events that ended October and brings to
me Chill and Thrill and More election and war news, if indeed I tune in.
Turns out Spooky Action From A
Distance is a no-show for me, as the external is less compelling than measuring
the ice sheets at both polls, and yes
doesn’t look like the polls are aiding candidates that are gearing up
for a run at the prize we call The-American-Presidency. Sure, they have debates and we have
replay. Wars are nothing new. Jobs are scarce, and not always high-paying,
but then again, some of us think we can live on a can of tomato soup, and the
cat curled up in our lap, as we greet the new day, turn up the heat, and
repeat. Replay and Spooky From A
Distance reminds us what we do for fun.
Drones and Spooks and Camera, and as far as I can tell, it’s a small
town scene to send your children out, dressed in costumes and mask and flashlight
with GPS attached, for a night of fun.
And now I sit, looking over the
video and the recapture of ground won in 1991 and 2000-something, and realize
we sent almost everybody home. Now they
are back, and we can watch if we care to.
Or tune in Sunday News programs that have the Wanna-be-People in suits
and tie invade our living room.
Still early and I have the
audio turned down, so will read the SAP in my favorite language, if I am truly interested. But I am not. Spooky From A Distance is my way of layering
my blogs and hoping that too much information goes unnoticed in the aftermath
of Gaining-An-Hour or more, so am switching the hours around so that we can do
more with less. Same 60 minutes
enhanced, and so it seems the desert has bloomed once more, and we can see it
from where ever we are, if of course it is not blacked out and redacted. Is what it is and Spooky From A Distance is
not everybody’s favorite show.
Ask my cat. “Do you dream?”
Gas and Guns and Oil
North-of-Nowhere, but now we can see it for what it is. Halloween Replay and won’t have to wait
another year. Replay halfway around the
world, and time difference no long matters.
Spooks in our home is possible now, and so is Football in London, and
yes is another Sunday watching The-Detroit-Lions losing to a Kansas City
team. Shame we have to wait for Kansas
City baseball until later in the day.
Big day for Kansas City in New York City and in London. Not such a big deal for me, as I have the volume turned down.
Drinking tea and hoping for
better, but won’t find it in Replay. And
that is how it is for me today. One more
blog to fill that extra hour gained. Is
how it is today, in my easy chair with the cat, hiding out and enjoying the
moment as best one can. Without checking
out what happen last night and in the wee hours of the morning, I realize we
can bury the dead and cross that road when needed. Later we can edit and revise and spook-a-fy
the scene to get the effect we wanted and the support from the people, who
authorize such things.
And read about it or see it on
Sunday when Clinton and Bush and Others
show up with Halloween hangovers take over, and talk about how good it is and
will be when they are running the highest position in this great land. And it has me thinking.
“ What’s for lunch.”
And the sleeping cat turns over
and I now can see, traces of spray paint on his tummy, and I realize it is just
not what I thought it would be, back in the day when Spooky Action From A
Distance was presented as the ultimate fun.
Then it changed. They took the
fence down, and added replay. Now I can
see everything, and yes. Must
report. Its Scary and it frightens me,
what is coming next. Halloween 2016. Enhanced and Super-Sized for affect.
That’s You, with spray paint
removed, but still a bit streaky, and still a bit gray in the smoke and haze of
oil wells, now on fire. Just like
before, but now captured by drones and
overhead camera, for the viewer at home.
And I am thinking. The sleeping
cat doesn’t care, and neither do I. Have
the volume turned down, and have seen this from before. Halloween is over. Next. Kansas
City in New York City. Kansas City in
London. Hard to say what is important
now, as Replay is taking over and it is difficult to keep my focus, with a
sleeping cat on my lap, and the lunch hour approaching, in real time.
And I say to the cat in my
quiet voice, “Spooky Action From A
Distance and me without an appetite.” “Imagine
That.”
I hear cats have some of the personality of big cats. Is it replay? I don't know the evolution of cats.
